Hans On Organizing Bathroom & Laundry Room Storage Tips:
Bathroom
Drawers – To maximize space and help find things quickly, use drawer dividers or
sliding drawer trays.
Whenever possible, store the extra stock of things with the supply you're currently
using so you see how much you still have and know when you need to get more.
Candy trays are an in expensive space to organize jewelry.
Place a magnetic strip along the back of your medicine cabinet to holding tweezers
and nail clippers, little scissors, razor blades and other small metal objects.
In small bathrooms add shelves or cabinets over the toilet for extra storage.
A tiered plant stand or hanging fruit basket can be used to store toiletries.
Keep all hair care supplies together in a basket or other pretty container.
Medicines - Sort into types (cold, creams, etc) check expiration date and store away
from kids reach
Store lipstick standing up so you can see the name of the color; easy solution:
Don't be afraid to use things other than drawer organizers-like a kitchen spice rack to
store lipstick and nail polish.
Cosmetics - Check for an expiration date (usually on the bottom of the bottle). If it’s
expired, toss it. The general rules of thumb are:
- Cologne & general cosmetics - 3 years
- Nail polish - 1 year
- Mascara 6 months
Laundry Room
Wire racks, wooden shelves and old kitchen cabinets make great storage for laundry
supplies and cleaning products above the washer and dryer.
Mount a paper towel rack over the washer and dryer to clean the top of the
machines as needed
Add a dowel or a shelf with a dowel under it, for hanging clothes to drip dry over the
sink.
